Jossiping With Whitney Little →
I hope this doesn’t shame my family.
So our Internet’s out at the apartment, and Time Warner can’t come out to fix it until Saturday sometime between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. I’m not a violent person, but Time Warner makes me want to own weapons and do really awful things. Sigh. In good news: I am employed! Full-time! Like a real college graduate! Today was my first day as Associate Editor at Mollygood, and I put in a...
Happy Birthday, Emma!
My precious cat turned 2 years old today. Here’s how we celebrated: Emma’s birthday treats: Canned cat food and a new feather-on-a-stick. I had to pick up a cupcake for the occassion (for myself). We sang happy birthday and everything! …I’m not crazy, I promise.
More on Mollygood
So, as you can see, I’ve got a new position at Jossip. I will be posting to Mollygood every day, and so far I love it. Like I said, I’ll still be doing my same features for Jossip, I’ve just added more responsibility. I’ve survived two days and my mission to win over the commenters has been successful thusfar. I absolutely love my new position. I have been kind of down...
She knows me a little too well
Sara: I'm going to start making a list. It will be the number of times you do stuff.
me: Like what?
Sara: This week, Whitney watched 546 hours of reality television, ate 4 cupcakes, asked her cat where she was when she was right in front of her 37 times, showered twice, etc.

I have a new job! I’ve moved over to Mollygood, Jossip’s sister site. I’ll still be contributing features to Jossip, but I will be posting daily to Mollygood.

This upsets me beyond belief. And it’s one of the reasons Christians get such a bad rap. Coming from the very buckle of the Bible Belt, I grew up around people like this — not as extreme, but awful nonetheless. My philosophy is that it’s possible to lead a Christian life without spreading the message of hate and intolerance. It’s just so sad that others don’t understand...

Sara: Did Whitney read reality show forums when you lived with her?
Jana: Oh yes. She used to read up on The Bachelor before the season even started. She would know who won weeks in advance.
Sara: Seriously?
Jana: Yes. We would ask her to go out and she would be like "No, I'm studying Bachelor screencaps."
Sara: That is so sad.
Jana: I know. But I'm proud of her for getting a laptop, so she can at least move around a bit.
Jana just left after a fabulous (albeit FREEZING) weekend in the city. It’s always refreshing to have someone from home to get me back on track, and she also reminded me of how much I love Chinatown. So after her departure I decided to force myself to watch the Dallas auditions of American Idol (yes, I know I just devoted an entire post about how I’m boycotting the initial auditions)....
This weather is absolutely miserable. “Feels like two degrees.” TWO DEGREES! I plan on never leaving the apartment again until summer.
Jana’s coming to visit this weekend! We were roommates sophomore year at TCU, and now we’re both Northeasterners. She’s living in DC and working on Capitol Hill and basically running the country. I can’t wait to spend the three day weekend showing her around the city.
So American Idol came back this week, and I am not ashamed to say I LOVE the show. I’ve watched since the beginning and like to claim responsibility for Kelly and Carrie’s wins. But I never watch the initial rounds of auditions. This week I DVR’d the premiere and couldn’t even make it past the first 10 minutes. My problem is I find the entire thing painful to watch....

Easily my favorite blog of all time.
The girls and I went to Madison Square Garden tonight for the Knicks game. I am too numb from the Cowboys loss to care much about sports, but it was still a great evening. I had never been to MSG or a pro basketball game, so two birds with one stone. Photo credit: Sara Katherine Runnels Sara surprised us by having an ESCALADE pick us up for the game! In front of Madison Square Garden. Knicks...
I visited Central Park this afternoon as part of one of my Jossip features. It’s hard to believe that just a couple months ago Sara and I were there with the crowds of people enjoying the last warm weekend of the year. It was so deserted today … I didn’t like it. Manhattan isn’t supposed to be that quiet. Central Park, circa Oct. 2007 I’m ready for winter to be...
My horoscope
“Last year you started a whole new cycle, for Jupiter, the giver of gifts and luck, was in Sagittarius and encouraged you to spread your wings and show the world what you could do. The year 2007 was to be your golden year, and if you worked hard on your dream, you will now see it take flight in a very material, tangible way in 2008.”
Surely a sign of the apocalypse
I watched live feeds of the Britney trial on TMZ all afternoon. I feel pathetic. But, hey, it’s my job? Kind of? Above: I was promised a press conference with K-Fed’s attorney, and instead I got this guy, with a house on his head, telling “why did the chicken cross the road” jokes. The press is now asking him serious questions about the election and writers...
This picture brought a smile to my face, which was much needed after this weekend. I can’t believe the Cowboys lost, I can’t believe the Colts lost, and I blame everything on Jessica Simpson. Whoever came up with this banner, which flew over Texas Stadium before the game today, is a genius. It’s been one of those weekends. I usually don’t get sick — yes,...
Sicky
One of the worst feelings in the world is being sick and away from home. Mom always makes me feel better. Luckily Emma has been very attentive.

Jossip Girl: Living the Gossip Girl Fantasy →
Another of my new Jossip projects. :)
Back in November I attended the Commercial Closet Association’s Ad Respect Honors with a couple of my Jossip co-workers. I just stumbled across some photos the photographer took, so here they are! The crowd. Can you find me mingling? The two guys in the middle are my co-workers, Brandon and Andrew. Love them. The photographer insisted on taking this picture of...

Why I love today
XOXO
So one of the things I’m working on for Jossip entails going to locations around NYC where Gossip Girl is filmed. Probably one of the best assignments ever. Tonight Sara and I gave it a test run and had drinks at the Palace Hotel bar that was seen during the pilot. Despite forking over $35 for two glasses of wine, it was great. I embarrassed Sara by taking lots of pics with the flash. She...

Toy exhibit at the City Museum of New York. The sock monkeys made me think of Mom and Kelsey.
Sara has to watch High School Musical 2 for work (she edits children’s books) … Little did I know she would fall in love with the movie. It’s like living with my little sister.
In my opinion, the best thing you can do is to find a person who loves you for...

Heather, Sar and I spent our Saturday in Herald Square in Manhattan. This Macy’s is INSANE! I feel like such a country bumpkin every time I walk into a department store that has more than three stories. It was beautiful … and insanely crowded. Been working on lots of Jossip stuff lately. I’ll go into more detail after everything is finalized, but I will hopefully be more...
Why I like today
Obama won Iowa, KU beat Virginia Tech in the Orange Bowl, and the Time Warner guy fixed our DVR! It’s a miracle. It never got warmer than about 20 degrees today. It was the miserable type of cold, the kind where no matter how many layers you have on, it still stings and makes you shiver. If ever there was a day to wear the robber ski mask Grandma gave me for Christmas, today was it. Check...
me: Emma's going to be turning 2 years old on January 25. We're going to have to throw her a birthday party and invite all the cats in the building.
Sara: I'm moving out.
Emma's NYC adventure
As I’m sure you all know by now, Emma came to live with us here in Manhattan! My roommates graciously welcomed her with loving arms. Well, they’re getting used to her, at least. Emma is not a fan of airports. My arms and hands were scratched up for days … not cause she was being mean, but because she was so panicked and terrified she was just trying to escape her carrier. I...

Happy 2008!
Emma and I are about to clean my room and unpack from my trip to Texas. It’s gotten out of hand, and I’m glad to have my cat here to kick litter around the room and pounce on me every time I try to be productive. She’s a big help. So I’ve made a list of (hopefully attainable) resolutions for the new year. 1. Exercise regularly. I can’t keep reaching for my inhaler...
